About the Role
The Access and Inclusion Officer (Disability) plays a key role in developing, researching, implementing and evaluating policies and projects that support disability access and inclusion in Manningham. The Officer will represent Council externally in regard to disability access and inclusion, ensure good communication between Council and relevant external groups and networks, and coordinate the provision of information and advice to Council and community stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications or have extensive experience in disability, access and inclusion, social sciences, health promotion, community development or a relevant field.
- Experienced in provision of high-level advice, planning and implementing a range of initiatives that enable people with a disability to participate in community life.
- Demonstrated experience in social research, analysis, policy development and community engagement and consultation processes.
- Proven ability to influence and gain support and assistance of a diversity of stakeholders; government, non-government, and community members.
