This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role in a dynamic garden maintenance team in local government. In this role you will undertake various gardening services across the municipality in parks and gardens, with a strong emphasis on soft landscaping. You will use your horticultural experience to enhance Manningham’s parks, gardens and streetscapes plus have the opportunity to undertake landscape upgrades and create your own vision within Manningham’s parks and gardens.
About the Role
In this role you will work outdoors within a team and lead from the front undertaking programmed garden maintenance of Manningham’s landscaped areas including reserves, shopping strips, playspaces and building surrounds. You will hone your skills in the area of parks and gardens maintenance and be provided the opportunity to put your stamp on the parks of Manningham.
Skills and Experience
- You are qualified and experienced in the maintenance of high-quality urban landscapes.
- You bring first class time management skills and a positive disposition to your day to day tasks.
- Have a proven history in garden maintenance and organising the resources required to complete the job effectively.
- You have a proven history in the management of staff and the ability to provide direction in the field.
- You can assess situations, arrive at appropriate work solutions and show judgment as to when to contact/advise your Team Leader or Leading Hand.
- Have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the operation of plant and equipment used in landscape and parks maintenance.
- A strong customer focus and excellent communicator.
