This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly experienced professional to join Manningham Council to protect and add value for our community. The Risk and Assurance team is a mature and high profile function at Manningham Council, reporting their performance to the Executive and Audit committees. The team delivers a range of risk management, internal audit/compliance and insurance outcomes, adopting agile and contemporary practices to mature our frameworks and processes.

About the Role

This newly created leadership role will extend the team’s capacity to drive risk management cultural maturity, conduct second line of defence compliance reviews, coordinate claims management and present analysis and performance reports to the Executive Risk Committee. The role reports to the Risk and Assurance Lead.

Skills and Experience

  • Senior experience in development and implementation of risk management framework and processes, conducting internal audit/audit and compliance reviews, fraud and corruption control and insurance/claims management.
  • High level of attention to detail, analytical and quantifying capability and regulatory knowledge.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships gaining trust, through collaboration and effective influence to achieve change.
  • Outcomes driven, committed to high performance and takes responsibility for own actions.
  • High level oral and written communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts and data in plain language, targeted to different audiences.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills enabling the transfer of knowledge and skills
  • A tertiary qualification in risk management, business, internal audit, insurance or related discipline.
