About the Role

This key role will implement, manage and ensure the highest quality building control services that meet the needs of the community and ensures compliance with relevant legislation with a focus on the recent swimming pool registration and compliance program. You will work in a positive and productive team environment to assist the Municipal Building Surveyor Office in the delivery of a wide range of services.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a Municipal Building Surveyors office or equivalent experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying/Building Inspection. Registration as a Building Surveyor is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Council’s MBS functions, inspections, investigations and providing expert advice with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations, Act, Codes, Standards and relevant industry practices and experience in issuing building notices, orders and processes associated with enforcement.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality written material, correspondence and reports.
  • Current driver’s licence.
