This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic parks team and pave a career in local government. In this role you will undertake horticultural maintenance activities with a strong emphasis on the mowing Manningham’s beautiful open spaces. You will undertake programmed maintenance services throughout the municipality and provide quality outdoor green spaces for the residents of Manningham and the public. You will work in a progressive and supportive team and have day to day dealings with other parks areas, Council departments, and the public.

About the Role
In this role you will work outdoors undertaking programmed maintenance of Manningham’s open space areas with a strong emphasis on the use of a ride on mowers and horticultural plant and equipment. You will be required to undertake programmed maintenance for the upkeep of parks, reserves and roadsides throughout the municipality. You will utilise your parks maintenance experience and skills to provide high quality outcomes and put your mark on the parks of Manningham in this rewarding role.
Skills and Experience
- An experienced ride on mower/tractor operator with the ability to utilise tools and equipment to achieve quality horticultural and parks maintenance outcomes.
- You can assess situations, arrive at appropriate work solutions and show judgment as to when to contact/advise your Team Leader.
- You can ensure that all open space road related operations comply with traffic safety and road signage regulations, avoiding hazards and are completed in accordance with established procedures and codes of practice.
- You can prioritise and organise workflow to achieve on time maintenance schedules as programmed by your Team Leader.
- You have a strong customer focus and are an excellent communicator.
