  • Band 6, salary $90,085 (pro rata) + 10.5% superannuation
  • Manningham Depot, Doncaster East location

Exciting opportunity to use your people skills to design, lead and promote responsible emergency management practises throughout the community of Manningham.

Contribute to the enhancement of resilience in Manningham communities and agencies, through delivery of proactive and responsive engagement strategies and evaluation of relevant programs.

This role will also undertake high level engagement across diverse client and community groups using a range of communication mediums

About the Role

The Emergency Management Engagement Officer leads the development, implementation, monitoring and review of resilience programs and capacity building activities with communities. The successful candidate with have the knowledge and understanding of community-based emergency management planning and project delivery, with the ability to motivate, influence and implement change.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of legislation, policies and contemporary theories pertaining to emergency management, community resilience building and community engagement.
  • A confident public speaker with a proven ability to deliver training and briefings on emergency management / fire mitigation to a wide variety of audiences Developed skills in research, project management and reporting on relevant issues.
  • A proven leader with the ability to motivate, influence and implement change.
  • An effective project manager with a demonstrated ability to manage concurrent and diverse projects with competing priorities in a time constrained environment.
  • Actively engage stakeholders and community in the identification, development and implementation of programs and projects that assist in developing connectedness and resilience within the municipality.
