About the Role

The Social Planning Lead will provide leadership on evidence-based policy and planning practice, and design and deliver projects which respond to the social needs of established and emerging communities. The successful candidate will be a specialist in the application of social policy discipline and practice and applying an evidence-based approach. They will enjoy the diversity that comes with delivering services on behalf of the community.

Responsible for a team that has a high level of contact with internal and external customers, the Social Planning Lead will be an experienced team leader skilled with an interpersonal ability engage stakeholders, collaborate, negotiate, and well-executed written and oral communication. 

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary or post-graduate qualified in social planning, social sciences, or related disciplines.
  • Skilled in the collection, analysis, dissemination and reporting of social data; provision of high-level advice; and contribution to key policies. 
  • An adept problem-solver drawing on social planning discipline and practice.
  • A specialist in the application of social policy discipline and practice and applying an evidence-based approach. 
  • A strong and agile project manager in delivery of projects to deadline and budget, with an ability to work within a project management framework, organisational policies, and legislation.
  • An experienced team leader skilled with an interpersonal ability engage stakeholders, collaborate, negotiate, and well-executed written and oral communication. 
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
