About the Role

As a Qualified Environmental Health Officer, you will help protect public health within our communities through monitoring, educating and achieving compliance of public health standards. This role will focus on food & health premises assessments, tobacco compliance, management of disease outbreaks, investigate reports of food contamination & illness, provide immunisation program support, respond to public health complaints and perform impact assessments following an emergency.

Skills and Experience

• Proven ability to manage multiple workflows at once with strong time management skills.
• Bachelor of Health Science (Public and Environmental Health) or related qualification necessary for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer under the Public Health & Wellbeing Act 2008.

• Considerable experience in Victorian food safety risk assessments, PHWA nuisance investigations, tobacco control and other key Environment Health related roles including immunisation.
• Strong flexible communication skills, including the ability to use persuasive language to discuss issues and achieve compliance with standards or regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or autonomously as required.
• Drivers licence valid in Victoria.
• Valid Working with Children Check.
