Manningham Councils Assets & Environment Team NEEDS YOU! The team is looking for a motivated self-starter who can effectively help lead the Asset Maintenance team in continuing to provide a proactive and reactive asset maintenance program for the residents of Manningham. The successful candidate will be a proactive and positively-focused individual, who has an interest in developing and supporting a high performing team focused on great culture. They will join a newly restructured team that they can call their own. This person will have the opportunity to develop, motivate and create a team that will focus on the delivery of high quality services for the community.

About the Role

The Leading Hand Asset Maintenance will be responsible for installing and maintaining Council’s roadside assets including signage, litter bins, seats, fencing, guideposts, and other roadside furniture. The position will be also responsible for signage maintenance in parks and reserves. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a team, and will show leadership, direction and on the job training to team members when required, and be enthusiastic, driven and engage in effective interaction and communication with various levels within Council and external to Council.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to provide supervision, direction, and on the job training to team members as required.
  • Ability to operate allocated plant and other associated equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience in asset maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Willingness to work towards continuous improvement.
  • Capacity to follow the quality and safety management procedures.
  • Capability to generate improvements in quality and safety.
  • Understand the responsibilities of the position arising from management systems including quality, safety and environmental.
  • Undertake the cleaning, repair, replacement and installation of Council assets including signage, litter bins, seats, fencing, bollards, guideposts and other roadside furniture.
