About the Role

- To provide strategic expertise into the development of Council’s transport and land-use related strategies and policies and manage programs and resources to facilitate and monitor the delivery of transport projects, programs and services.
- To undertake research, development and advocacy as required to implement sustainable transport options within, and beyond, the Manningham municipality.
- To support the planning of various State Government major transport projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Transport / Land Use Planning or an associated discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with experience in integrated transport and land-use management/planning including experience in strategy development, feasibility studies, project planning, technical reporting and budget control.
- Demonstrated analytical, consultation and problem solving skills in relation to transport planning in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of Local, State and Federal Government transport policies and the ability to identify and research key issues and emerging trends relevant to transport and land use planning and consider innovative transport solutions and ideas.
- Excellent communication, consultation and advocacy skills, including the ability to effectively manage public situations and a demonstrated ability to prepare concise and accurate reports (excellent written communication skills).
- Proven ability to be collaborative and gain the co-operation of key stakeholders both within the organisational and for our community.
